Catshanghai

We saw these really funny, but dark blank CD designs at a stall outside Bridge8 near Jianguo Xi Lu. Each CD only costs 10 rmb. I think they make great presents and I might get the whole set to give to students as prizes. The designs remind me of the logos on The Thing’s t-shirts or the punk cartoon art that I used to see on my favourite mid nineties Chicago post hardcore bands. The characters in the name Tyakasha mean cute, but bad and I am sure there is more than a nod to Japanese anime influences. You can go to their website at http://www.tyakasha.com.cn .
