What A Load Of Pineapples
Our new house is full of fresh, cut pineapples at the moment. We are using fruit to improve the smell of our home by filling the rooms with a sweet fragrance while gathering all the bad odours that have accumulated over three months of renvoation. Local refurbishment projects are very cheap compared to Europe so locals like to gut the whole house and make everything new. This includes plumbing, electrics, bathrooms, kitchens and ceilings. All this building work generates bad smells from paint, plaster, solvents, sawdust and the crew who work, live and smoke in the house while it is a building site. This is a local custom that deserves to go in Lifehacker, but it’s too bad if you don’t like the smell of pineapples.
