Park Shanghai
Chinese people in general and Shanghainese in particular are great lovers of public space. As soon as winter gives way to warmer days in Spring, you will see locals gather in parks to exercise, play Mah Jong, exercise, walk backwards and hang out their caged birds.
Foreigners will always find this spectacle bizarre and fascinating, whereas my wife (from Shanghai) could not understand why I think this is so interesting. It is a normal part of everyday life in Shanghai.
